DIY arch trellis

Tuteur arche scaled

To give a little boost to your climbing or trailing plants, start creating plant supports. Nothing could be easier, just follow the steps right here 👇

Materials:

–     14-gauge galvanized steel wire

–     6” diameter brass hoop

–     Wire cutters

–     Jute twine

–     Hot glue

Steps:

1 – Start by cutting a piece of galvanized steel wire long enough based on the size of your pot and the plant you need to support or guide.

Always considering the size of your plant and its pot; choose the size of the brass ring that suits it.

Example: For my pothos which has a pot 10” high x 8-1/2’’ wide, I used a 6” diameter hoop.

2 – By hand, form an arch with your galvanized steel wire and insert it into your brass ring.

3 – Wrap one of the legs of the steel arch around the brass hoop to form a loop.

4 – Repeat the operation 3 more times, wherever the legs of the arch and the ring meet. The galvanized steel wire bends well by hand, but you can use flat pliers to make the loops as tight as possible.

5 – Adjust the length of your arch according to the depth of the pot in which it will be placed.

6 – To finish, wrap the galvanized steel arch with jute twine and glue it all along with hot glue.

7 – Your plant support is ready to be placed in the soil.

This model will be perfect for supporting medium-sized plants. Mine helps discipline my beautiful Pothos Marble Queen.
