Babies plants for healthier premature children

Mois des bb plantes 1

Children are our most precious treasures! Everyone agrees: all our babies should be healthy, full of energy, with arms wide open to the universe of possibilities that awaits them. None should be sick, confined to a hospital bed, especially not from their first breath, when, a little impatient, they arrived much earlier than expected. This is what happened to Mélanie Grégoire, horticultural columnist, greenhouse producer, and Passion Jardins friend, who gave birth to her little Laurent at only 30 weeks of pregnancy. During the first weeks of his life, baby Laurent fought for his survival under the good care of the neonatology team at the Sherbrooke University Hospital Center and was cradled by the boundless love of his parents.

Thanks to research and scientific advances, little Laurent was able to overcome this ordeal and is now in good health. During the two months of her newborn's hospitalization, Mélanie pondered on how to contribute and raise funds for neonatology research to help other babies get through this difficult start in life. This is how the month of baby plants was born!

Throughout the month of March, it is possible to purchase small plants of various varieties, grown in Quebec, at participating garden centers, including several Passion Jardins merchants. All profits from the sale of baby plants are donated to neonatology research centers in Quebec. Since the beginning of the fundraising campaign in 2020, more than $182,000 has been raised, and it's just the beginning.

The slogan for the month of baby plants is: "Just a little love is enough to see them blossom." This is also what you will need for your baby plants to grow big and add life to your environment: sunlight, water, and love. In addition to helping provide cutting-edge healthcare to premature babies, you will enjoy a healthier environment thanks to your new plants.

Visit the participating Passion Jardins merchants throughout the month of March to get your baby plants or order them online.
