Strawberry cake

Scientific name :

Fragaria × ananassa

Light Requirements :

Full sun

Watering :

Water regularly, especially when fruit production is underway. Keep the soil moist without excess to prevent rot. Allow to dry slightly between waterings to preserve the roots. More frequent watering during hot periods or if you are growing them in a planter.

Maintenance :

Place mulch around the base of the plants to keep the fruits clean and facilitate harvesting. Weed regularly and prune the runners to limit spreading. Fertilize with a natural fertilizer rich in potassium (4-3-7). Protect in winter with straw.

Description :

The strawberry plants are perennial in our climate. Depending on the varieties, their flowers can be white, pink, or red, becoming sweet red fruits. They multiply by producing runners (baby strawberry plants). Strawberry plants can be grown in open ground, but also in pots or hanging planters. The available varieties are adapted to our climate and resistant to cold.
