A twenty-minute project, and a gift idea already being prepared for November.
Are your herbs picked? All that's left is to dry them and put them in a jar. The result looks nice on a kitchen shelf, and even better as a gift.
What you need
- Freshly picked herbs
- String, for example jute, to hang them
- An airtight glass jar
- A label and a pencil
The four steps
- Hang your herbs in small bunches, in a dry and airy place, away from direct light.
- Let dry until the leaves crumble easily.
- Jar in an airtight glass container, kept away from light and moisture.
- Label with the name of the mix and the harvest date.
A gift idea
Prepare a few jars now and keep them for November. A hand-labeled mix, with the name of the herbs and the harvest date, makes a great gift as is, or in a small paper bag with a string.
