As soon as the potting soil starts to dry out. Be careful of root rot if the potting soil is kept too moist.
Maintenance :
Remove the dried leaves. Clean the large dusty leaves with a damp cloth. Fertilize with an all-purpose fertilizer (20-20-20) during the growing period, from March to October. Propagation by division of offshoots.
Description :
Also known as elephant ear, the Alocasia is cultivated for its very decorative, often veined and impressive leaves. It prefers warm temperatures (minimum of 10℃) and high humidity to grow well. Toxic plant, keep out of reach of children and pets.
