Description :

The Venus flytrap is an iconic carnivorous plant that captures its prey using leaves modified into jaw-like structures. Its traps are lined with sensitive hairs that detect the movements of insects. When these hairs are stimulated twice within a few seconds, the traps quickly close to imprison the prey. Once captured, the plant secretes digestive enzymes to break down the insect and absorb its nutrients. It is non-toxic to humans and animals.
